Evidence from research can make important contributions to policy. However, many opportunities to use research in policy are missed and very little is known about what works to help policy agencies use research.
The Centre for Informing Policy in Health with Evidence from Research (CIPHER) is a collaboration between the Sax Institute, the University of Western Sydney, the Australasian Cochrane Centre, The University of New South Wales, NSW Health, The University of Newcastle, University of Technology and University of St Andrews in the UK. Working with a network of Australian policy agencies, CIPHER will explore and share information about how best to support the use of research in policy.
CIPHER is a Centre for Research Excellence funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia.
