Exploration of disinvestment in the local healthcare setting

Claire Harris, Kelly Allen, Sally Green and colleagues from Monash Health have published a thematic series of 11 papers in BMC Health Services Research. The Sustainability in Health care by Allocating Resource Effectively (SHARE) Program was an investigation of concepts, opportunities, methods and implications for evidence-based disinvestment in health technologies and clinical practices in the local healthcare setting. It was undertaken by the Centre for Clinical Effectiveness at Monash Health as a demonstration project funded by the Victorian Department of Health.

The frameworks, models, taxonomies and other outputs were developed in Claire's PhD. The papers are targeted at clinicians, managers, policy makers, health services researchers and implementation scientists working in this context. They are published as a collection at biomedcentral.com/collections/share.
