CKT marks World Kidney Day 2016

Earlier this month, the Cochrane Kidney and Transplant (CKT) Group marked World Kidney Day with new online publications that highlight the group’s ongoing contributions to the understanding and treatment of kidney disease. In a wide-ranging feature article, CKT editor and paediatric nephrologist Elisabeth Hodson looks at how CKT reviews have changed treatment for children with kidney disease. She reflects on the critical role Cochrane plays in summarising and evaluating often overwhelming amounts of evidence to help inform the decisions of health professionals, policymakers, parents and young patients. The feature article is accompanied by a curated list of CKT’s child-focused reviews and a new podcast on the group’s influential Corticosteroid therapy for children with nephrotic syndrome review. You can also find out more about how this particular review is bringing immediate benefits to children and their families in this recent interview with the father of young patient Clay Wu (pictured above with Deirdre Hahn) and CKT’s Co-ordinating Editor Jonathan Craig.
